The poll shows that 49% of registered voters consider the Trump administration truthful, while a majority of registered voters, 53%, view the news media as untruthful.
The poll is broken down further based on party lines: 89% of Republicans view Trump’s administration as truthful, while 77% of Democrats view his administration as untruthful.
America’s relationship with the news media was made prominent by President Trump during his campaign. Trump championed himself to be a different kind of candidate, who would not back down to the “dishonest media.”
Hostile engagements between the press and Trump’s administration have taken place numerous times in the two weeks that Trump has been in office.
Most notably, there have been several spats between Press Secretary Sean Spicer and established news outlets such as the New York Times and Washington Post in the White House Briefing Room.Getty Images/Drew Angerer
The Emerson College poll also reveals that most Americans view both Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway and Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos, unfavorably.

Emerson College’s poll shows President’s Trump’s approval ratings are similar to a Morning Consult/Politico poll conducted February 2-4. In the poll, Trump is shown to have a 47% approval rating.
