Amid the brewing Harvey Weinstein sex scandal, Ben Affleck found himself under fire for sexual misconduct when actress Hilarie Burton accused him of groping her during his 2003 appearance on “Total Request Live.”

Affleck issued a very short apology on Twitter on Wednesday, admitting he “acted inappropriately toward Ms. Burton”:

There's apparently video of the incident. Watch below:

Then there’s this tweet that he posted directly before the apology:

Affleck posted a harsh condemnation of Weinstein’s behavior toward women:

I am saddened and angry that a man who I worked with used his position of power to intimidate, sexually harass and manipulate many women over decades. The additional allegations of assault that I read this morning made me sick. This is completely unacceptable, and I find myself asking what I can do to make sure this doesn’t happen to others. We need to do better at protecting our sisters, friends, co-workers and daughters. We must support those who come forward, condemn this type of behavior when we see it and help ensure there are more women in positions of power.

Here's what his last two tweets look like when viewed back-to-back:

At least one other Hollywood star isn't buying Affleck's position. Rose McGowan suggested she once had a conversation with Affleck about Weinstein's behavior and he responded in a way indicating he was well aware of it:

Weinstein traveled to Europe on Wednesday for “sex addiction” rehab amid numerous allegations ranging from sexual harassment to rape.
