Hollywood heavyweight Harvey Weinstein has been accused of allegedly sexually harassing many women, and some have even accused him of rape. While many have come out against Weinstein since the allegations surfaced, Hillary Clinton, one of Weinstein's friends, took a whole five days to say a single word about him.
As IJR previously reported, Clinton's former press secretary, Nick Merrill, issued this statement Tuesday:

While photos appear to show Clinton and Weinstein as close friends, nothing tells it as accurately as the emails they sent each other. IJR investigated using a list of emails, which WikiLeaks previously exposed, and found many emails related to Harvey Weinstein.
In an email Weinstein sent Clinton in 2012, the high-powered producer talked about his CNN appearance and said that Clinton was “the greatest Secretary of State of all time,” Bill Clinton was “incredible,” and Donald Trump was “uncool”:
Watch the interview he was referring to here:
The next one shows Weinstein sending an email to Capricia Marshall, the Chief of Protocol of the United States. He says:
UNCLASSIFIED U.S. Department of State Case No. F-2014-20439 Doc No. C05771759 Date: 08/31/2015
As time moves on, I realize I haven't seen you and Mrs. Clinton (Hillary) in a long time, but I think of you both often. I
don't know if movie producers are still worthy in your world, but next time you're in NYC I'd love to see you.
I have such fond memories of you guys watching SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE. I made another movie you might like about the
ascendancy of King George after Edward abdicated, it's called KINGS SPEECH. The movie brings to light something that
many people don't know, which is that King George was a stutterer and he hired an actor to try and help him overcome
it. It's a fun movie that is much in the tradition of SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE, again I think you would both like it (and
Hillary would approve because it's PG-13 with not too many swear words).
If you have any trips coming up I'd love to send it to you so you guys can watch and give me your opinion. I could also
include a copy of THE TILLMAN STORY, that one is obviously not a happy film, but it's an incredibly important one.
Your bad friend,
PS — Please share this with Madame Secretary.
Capricia then forwarded it to Clinton and Huma Abedin, Clinton's then-Deputy Chief of Staff in the State Department, adding:
Very sweet email from Harvey. Let me know if you want the movies.
You were amazing yesterday. Will look for direction on details for the upcoming talks.
Finally, Clinton responded:
That is so sweet so pls let him know I not only want the movies, including The Tillman Story) but I've heard about some
of his other projects from Jamie Patricof (Company Men, Blue Valentine) that also sound great. And pls wish him and
Georgina every good wish w the new baby and that we all hope to see them soon.
And, how are you? We need to discuss the orchestration of Sept 1-2. Has anyone contacted you or Protocol yet? I hope
this email finds you vacationing somewhere w your two guys—Love to all.
Another WikiLeaks email shows Clinton sending an email herself, asking to add Weinstein to some kind of call list in 2011:
Finally, Weinstein sent another email to Marshall asking, “Is there anything I can do for Hillary? Perhaps there's specific movies she wants to see? Please let me know if there's anything I can do.”
Clinton has received a lot of pressure this week to take action by donating money Weinstein had given to her, but she somewhat dodged the pressure with her answer in an interview Wednesday, as previously reported. She told CNN she gives 10 percent of her money to charity every year and because Weinstein's donations were a part of her bank account, it would “be a part of that.”
