Megyn Kelly's morning show continues to run into problems despite only being on the air three weeks. The production problems showed up again during a crucial interview with a double amputee U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
Kelly was interviewing Rob Jones, a former combat engineer who lost his legs to an improvised explosive device, about his plans to run 31 marathons in one month to raise money for charity, all with his two prosthetic legs.
Almost as soon as it began, the feed between Kelly and Jones cut out. Jones, who was in London to start his first marathon, was asked by Kelly if it was safe to run 26.2 miles every day.
The camera began to zoom in on Jones as he did not respond. Kelly asked a second time, and Jones said the feed appeared to cut out. After finally asking a third time, he was able to hear her question.
While the rest of the interview continued without major technical issues, the tone appeared to be off from the rough start.
The show has only been on air for a short time, but so far, the ratings are less than optimal. Page Six reported the show's slot is down 32 percent compared to last year.
It also reported people within NBC are worried that since Kelly's show has started, Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb’s show that follows Kelly's has also suffered in ratings.
