During the holiday season, it's not uncommon for companies to host holiday parties to say thank you to their employees for a year of a job well done.
While the parties are usually hosted in the office or at an event venue, Vice President Mike Pence decided there was one place to host the people who risk their lives to save his.
On Saturday, Pence and his wife, Karen, hosted the families of Secret Service members at the vice president's residence — Number One Observatory Circle.
He wrote on Twitter he was “honored to host the selfless and dedicated men and women of the Secret Service.”
At one point, Pence bent down to one little boy's level to take in the splendor of a toy car:
This young attendee looked dapper in his sweater and bow tie, which put him on the top of the “best dressed” list.
As guests passed by one of the multiple Christmas trees that adorned the house, they were given the opportunity to meet the vice president and second lady one-on-one.
In reflecting on the event, Pence tweeted he and his wife “enjoyed meeting their families and thanking them for their service!”
