Singer Lorde recently made the mistake of tweeting her upcoming tour dates.
Listing stops in Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia, and Tel Aviv, Israel, she signed off with just two words — “let's dance”:
MOSCOW 🕊 ST. PETERSBURG 🕊 TEL AVIV 🕊 LET’S DANCE ——-> https://t.co/xNJ30GPtaQ
— Lorde (@lorde) December 18, 2017
She immediately received backlash from people telling her to boycott Israel:
Don't play in Tel Aviv while they have the Palestinians under a brutal occupation! Very disappointed in you! Boycott Israel!
— justice (@Newjersey1987) December 18, 2017
And apparently, the pressure worked — Tel Aviv was removed from her schedule.
Jewish actress Roseanne Barr was not impressed:
Boycott this bigot: Lorde caves to BDS pressure, cancels Israel concert https://t.co/eugOCJPRBu
— Roseanne Barr (@therealroseanne) December 24, 2017
Barr, who was raised Jewish, has a very low tolerance for those who would malign Israel:
don't excuse jew hating bigots, bc that makes you one 2. 'POOR NAZIS. ohhhhh....they r just sad & duped.' GTFO.

And then there's the fact that, by many accounts, Russia is worse:
If you perform in Russia, there is absolutely no rationale for cancelling your concert in Israel. Russia is a far worse human rights violator than Israel.
