Former White House press secretary Sean Spicer said during a Monday appearance on “Good Morning Britain” that Oprah Winfrey lacks the “political infrastructure” for a presidential run.
The billionaire philanthropist's speech at Sunday night's Golden Globes sparked renewed interest in a potential run for office.
Spicer, however, suggested that if she decided to run, her chances would take a hit over her lack of “political infrastructure.”

"She doesn’t have the political infrastructure,” Spicer said. “And we’ve seen this before in our history — where people who have tried to pop in that are not in politics and have had a difficult time adjusting.”
Host Piers Morgan jumped on Spicer's comment, pointing out that Spicer's former boss was a reality TV star before making his first serious venture into the national political arena.
Spicer then modified his statement.
“That withstanding, President Donald Trump proves that there is an appetite for outsiders, and that you don’t necessarily have to have [experience],” he said. “The question is: Was that an anomaly, or is that the new norm?”
