GOP Rep Quotes Schumer on 2013 Shutdown — Now Democrats Are Trying to Shut That Down, Too

As the current government shutdown loomed on the horizon, Democrats and media critics alike were quick to take a statement President Donald Trump made in May of 2017 and throw it back in his face:

But the president was unfazed, and his statements leading into the reality of a shutdown were unequivocal:

But then one Republican decided turnabout was fair play — and introduced on the House floor in poster form the words of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) from the government shutdown of 2013  — and the Democrats were not happy:

Rep. Bradley Byrne (R-AL), was booed by Democrats as he continued speaking — but he pushed on:

Schumer has not responded to Byrne's use of his words — but he's doing it to Trump, so he must be all right with it:
