The Scottish Government Says Trump’s Business Is Refusing to Pay Its Legal Bills

The genesis for President Donald Trump’s hatred of windmills probably lands right around the time that the Scottish government decided to put a wind farm near his resort in Aberdeenshire. When this all arose in 2003, Trump said, “I want to see the ocean, I do not want to see windmills.”

Eventually, he took the Scottish government to court, trying to keep the windmills away from his property. But he lost and the wind farm was finally completed in 2018. Now the Scottish government says that Trump is balking at his legal bills.

An adjudicator is now trying to nail down that cost and a spokeswoman for the Scottish government told The Guardian, “As the amount of expenses has not been agreed, we are awaiting a date for the auditor of the court of session to determine the account. We expect payment when this has been completed.”

Meanwhile, the vice president for the Trump resort said, “This is not in our control,” adding, “The matter is in the hands of the auditors of the court of session and the Scottish ministers.” The Scottish government ruled in February that the resort would have to pay the legal bills.

Even in his role as president, Trump has repeatedly trashed windmills, saying that they kill birds and that they cause cancer. Almost every claim that he’s spouted has been branded bogus by the Department of Energy.

The wind farms are part of Scotland’s aim to “have decarbonised their energy system almost completely” by 2050. The Scottish are surrounded almost entirely by the sea and their wide coastlines make them an ideal home for wind turbines. The wind farm that Trump was fighting consists of 11 turbines, according to a report from Quartz.

ANYONE that does business with Trump and believes they are going to be the exception to his long history of fraud and corruption is literally asking to be taken advantage of. When people show you who they are believe them.
