What the White House is Talking About:
President Obama meets this afternoon with NASA astronaut Scott Kelly in the Oval Office to talk about his space travels.
What the White House Press Corps is Talking About:
Last night’s Al Smith Dinner, still.
Also, Party on the South Lawn:
POTUS and FLOTUS host BET’s “Love and Happiness: A Musical Experience” tonight, which is basically a concert of different songs. Obama will give opening remarks.
The White House Goes Pink:

This is what it looked like last night, lit up in pink to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It’s been a tradition each year since 2008, only this time, the Obama administration decided to piggy back the lighting on the president’s Affordable Care Act speech in Miami yesterday.
Joe Biden Drives Corvette, Spreads Joy:
For just the third time in seven years, Joe Biden was allowed to drive his prized 1967 forest green Corvette Stingray, for a bit with Jay Leno to air 11/9 on “Leno’s Garage” on CNBC. He takes Leno for a spin at a secret Secret Service driver training facility and they talk cars, and how cars like that used to be great for making out with girls. The Corvette is now worth $78,000.

At the very end, a new model Corvette follows Biden and Leno and pulls up next to them. The driver … is Colin Powell.

The Trump Show Must Go On:
Even though reports have business in the dumpster (fire), mired in an ugly campaign, the Trump International Hotel Washington, D.C., will host an official grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony and press conference with members of the Trump family, according to an invitation to the October 26th event.
Spotted You, Too:
Since Playbook spotted me, I’ll spot back: Daniel Lippman on my Virgin America flight out of Las Vegas back to Washington yesterday. Also on board for the first leg to Dallas, Trump spokeswoman Katrina Pierson, who sat in first class.
Also spotted last night: Maria Bartiromo. I’m sorry, but if you watched any of the Al Smith Dinner footage, you had to have seen her, sitting behind the podium on the dais. While she was busy taking selfies with Henry Kissinger, everyone else was being distracted by the plunging neckline of her red gown.
This is Hillary’s face when she knows she’s being upstaged by cleavage.
The white opera-length gloves were a nice/interesting touch, though.
What The Beltway is Talking About:
With less than three weeks until the election, Donald Trump’s national political director Jim Murphy said he is taking “a step back from the campaign.”
What America is Talking About:
Internet outages all over the web.
The Al Smith dinner was tense af. Trump had a few good jokes (“Michelle Obama gives a speech and everyone loves it,” he said. “Melania gives the exact same speech and people get on her case.”). But he mostly attacked Clinton as if he was at a rally, and the audience booed.
Hillary Clinton’s jokes were pointed, but they were at least still jokes (“Donald, I did enjoy listening to your speech,” she said. “I’m sure I’ll enjoy listening to Mike Pence deny you ever gave it.”).
The looks on everyone’s faces in the photo basically capture the mood of the night. A lot going on here:

Look at the size of the font on Trump’s notes from last night:
Pop Stars for Hillary:
The Clinton campaign announced Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry will knock doors at swing state college campuses tomorrow — Miley at George Mason in Virginia and Katy at UNLV in Nevada. And a week from Saturday, Jennifer Lopez will appear at a campaign rally in Miami.
New Yorkers for Trump:
Talking to Trump supporters in Las Vegas this week, I heard many say the polls are off because a large number of people who plan to vote for Trump don’t feel comfortable admitting it.
We won’t know how true that is until Election Day, but here’s a reminder that Trumpkins are everywhere, even the Upper East Side. Ross Goldband sent in a photo of a New York City storefront with “Make America Great Again” written on the window, and in the corner, an American flag that swaps out stars for Trump’s campaign slogan.

New Music Friday:
So many new tunes out today. I’ll be spending my weekend spinning Lady Gaga’s “Joanne,” Jimmy Eat World’s “Integrity Blues,” and Tyler Glenn’s “Excommunication.”
The Notorious D.O.N.:
In case you ever wondered what a Donald Trump-Biggie photoshop would look like…
Now Staring at Female Suburban Voters in Swing States Nationwide Every Time They Go To The Grocery Store:
