A new poll conducted in the wake of the third GOP primary debate shows three key issues where Republican voters have the most trust in billionaire presidential candidate Donald Trump.
The Reuters/Ipsos poll, which was unveiled Tuesday, determined that not only was Trump favored by 31% of Republicans, but in certain issues, he was leading the field by substantial margins.
1) The economy.
GOP voters think Trump has the chops to lead the American economy, with 59% saying “yes” to whether or not they trust his economic prowess.
The next highest candidates on economic issues were Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina with 27 and 25%, respectively.
2) Dealing with foreign leaders.
Republicans trust Trump to negotiate with foreign leaders, garnering 41% of GOP voters’ approval.
Followed by Trump was retired neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson with 39%. In addition, Rubio is closing in on 31% trust among Republican voters.
3) Being Commander in Chief.
In who Republicans would most trust to take the reins as the top commander of our nation’s military, Trump is tied with Carson at 40% a piece.
One area where Trump is not number one? Having control over the nuclear arsenal. Carson tops the list among GOP voters with 39% of trust, while Trump lies five points behind the retired surgeon.
The Reuters/Ipsos poll was conducted immediately following the debate and concluded on November 2nd.
