President Donald Trump praised Attorney General William Barr for doing “a fantastic job” and claimed that Democratic presidential candidates Sens. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), Cory Booker (D-N.J.), and Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) were “ranting and raving like lunatics” by their questioning of him.
During an interview on Fox Business’ “Trish Regan Primetime,” on Wednesday Trump deflected calls for Barr’s resignation, labeling them “so ridiculous.”
“He’s an outstanding man. He’s an outstanding legal mind,” said Trump. “I heard he performed incredibly well today,” the president said of Barr’s testimony.

The host then mentioned Barr’s interaction with Harris on Wednesday, when she grilled the attorney general over White House interactions and neglecting to review underlying Mueller report evidence before issuing his summary of the investigation.
An easily provoked Trump responded “she was probably very nasty” to Barr, marking the second time in a week that the president has called Harris “nasty.”
“How about these three people?” the president then added, referring to Klobuchar, Booker, and Harris — the three Democratic presidential candidates who were part of Barr’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing.
“You have three of them running against me and they are up there ranting and raving like lunatics,” Trump said of their questions to Barr.
“How is that fair?” he added, continuing to complain about the senators fulfilling their committee duties.

Trump went on to suggest that these 2020 Democratic contenders don’t really “care about” Barr and are only using this as a ploy for gaining “political points.”
“So you have Bill Barr, highly respected, great attorney general and he has to take the abuse from people that are running for office,” Trump said. “They don’t care about this, they’re just looking for political points. And I really think the American people see through it so easily.”
