Trump Accuses Dems of Being ‘All Talk’ and Doing Nothing to Fix DACA

In exchange for his signature campaign promise to build a border wall, President Donald Trump has called on legislators to devise a deal for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

During a televised immigration meeting Tuesday, Trump told members of Congress to work together to achieve comprehensive immigration reform.

However, on Friday, he tweeted he received a “so-called bipartisan DACA deal,” which he called a “big step backwards.”

He explained the deal did not include border wall funding, chain and lottery immigration were “made worse,” and the United States would have to take large numbers of people from “high crime” places.

On Saturday, he tweeted that “Democrats are all talk and no action” and that a “great opportunity” was missed:

Trump added he doesn’t “believe the Democrats really want to see a deal on DACA”:

This isn’t the first time the president has called Democrats out for not doing enough for DACA participants.

On Jan. 2, he tweeted they’re “just interested in politics” and claimed DACA activists and Hispanics will start “falling in love” with Republicans:

On Tuesday, U.S. District Judge William Alsup sided with California and other states and ruled the DACA program must continue while litigation plays out.
