Trump Responds to His Assistant Leaving WH Over ‘Absolutely False’ Remarks About First Family

President Donald Trump is expressing that it’s “too bad” that his personal assistant reportedly spread “absolutely false” information about the First Family amid her departure.

Trump’s personal assistant, Madeleine Westerhout, found herself in the spotlight after she apparently “opened up” with reporters after having a “couple drinks” about information regarding the First Family.

At an off-the-record dinner on Aug. 17 at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, Westerhout told the reporters that she believed she had a better relationship with the president than his own daughters, according to Politico.

Additionally, Westerhout reportedly told them that Trump didn’t like taking photos with his daughter Tiffany Trump “because he perceived her as overweight,” Politico reports.

“This was an off-the-record dinner and the media blatantly violated that agreement,” a White House official anonymously told Politico.

However, although describing her as a “wonderful person,” the president called his now-former assistant’s remarks “a little bit hurtful” and said her dismissal from the White House was “automatic.”

“It was too bad,” Trump told reporters outside the White House on Friday. “…I wished her well.”

Sharing that he would be speaking with his daughter Tiffany on the phone once arriving at Camp David, Trump said, “I love Tiffany.”

A White House official anonymously told Politico that this instance serves as a “good reminder that we are all staff” and “we are all replaceable.”

Westerhout — who has been with the president since the start of his administration — resigned from her position in the White House on Thursday.

Irrespective of the fact that she betrayed her employer, the media has sunk so low that they violated one of journalism’s cardinal rules. Off the record comments are not exposed.

So she still hadn’t figured out not to “TRUST” the media? So this alone tells me she wasn’t right for the position she was hired for…………Bye Bye!!

well drinking alcohol drinks impairs ones mind. As the saying loose lips sink ships. I agree with Trump it was very hurtful to his family. She should of never spoke to the reporter at all. Had she not spoken to the reporter she probably would still have her job. What she said was not true either.

We just now have “freedom of the press”. Free to spy, lie and crucify. Must be a wonderful time to be a journalist. No degree necessary, only an iPhone, money and no morals.

IJR is confusing.

Why did this fluff piece get promoted to be above the Iranian satellite article? WHY? What is so important about it that it had to actually be moved? Not even a strong hurricane was important enough to move an article about it.

Just goes with OFFICE parties. Many a good person has lost a job, some even a career over an off-campus and off-record event, when the Booze causes you to Looze you J O B!

With the media there is no such animal as ‘off the record.’ She should have known better. Yes it’s sad but she did it to herself. Bad mouth the boss and his family, even if true, loose your job. Tell me it works any differently in any business or government anywhere in the world. She should thank God she wasn’t working for either of the Clinton’s or she would be a candidate for the Clintonization cleansing.

Westerhout’s sharing of personal, familial information, whether true or not, is utterly unacceptable. She knew very well what the media would do with any hint of negativity about the prez and to serve it up on a platter to the pack of wolves was unforgiveable.
That she was plied with drinks and it was “off the record” are neither reasons nor excuses. She never should have been there in the first place. It was her arrogance that put her in the position to betray her employer.
