President Donald Trump‘s day of ranting online took a turn when he was joined by the President of Finland for an Oval Office press opportunity then, later, a press conference with the Finnish leader.
During the press conference, Trump threw decorum to the wind, ranting about his Democratic foes.
At one point, Trump got into a contentious back-and-forth with Reuters reporter Jeff Mason. The journalist asked Trump about his call with Ukraine, asking, “What did you want President Zelensky to do about Vice President Biden and his son Hunter?”
Trump shot back, “Are you talking to me? Listen, are you ready? We have the President of Finland here, ask him a question.” When Mason said he just wanted Trump to follow up on an earlier question, the president begged, “Did you hear me? Ask him a question.”
Trump then went on one of his trademark diatribes, bellowing, “It’s a whole hoax and you know who’s playing into the hoax? People like you and the fake news media that we have in this country. And I say in many cases, the corrupt media because you’re corrupt. Much of the media in this country is not just fake, it’s corrupt.”
Though he did seem to extend a withered olive branch, adding “And you have some very fine people too, great journalists, great reporters but to a large extent, it’s corrupt and it’s fake.” But still, refusing to answer the question, Trump begged again, “Ask the president of Finland a question, please.”

Trump’s earlier outburst in the Oval Office was no less bizarre. During that appearance, he declared that the Democrats have been trying to impeach him since he was elected. That followed a morning on Twitter in which he raved against his enemies and accused the Democrats of “wasting everyone’s time and energy on BULLSHIT.”
