One of  President Donald Trumpâs final tasks of 2025 was to rant about actor George Clooney on Truth Social.
Trump called out Clooneyâs support of the Democratic Party and labeled the Oscar winner âaverage guyâ all the while celebrating Clooneyâs recently granted French citizenship, per Mediaite.
âGood News! George and Amal Clooney, two of the worst political prognosticators of all time, have officially become citizens of France which is, sadly, in the midst of a major crime problem because of their absolutely horrendous handling of immigration, much like we had under Sleepy Joe Biden,â Trump posted.
Trump also called out Clooney for hiscomments about former President Joe Bidenâs mental acuity.
Trump mentioned California GovernorGavin Newsomâs possible run for president in 2028, stating Newsom would âlead the Democrats to their future defeat.â
âRemember when Clooney, after the now infamous debate, dumped Joe during a fundraiser, only to go onto the side of another stellar candidate, Jamala(K!), who is now fighting it out with the worst governor in the Country, including Tim Waltz, Gavin Newscum, for who is going to lead the Democrats to their future defeat,â Trump wrote.
Trump then called out Clooney for being âan average guyâ and not a star.
âHe wasnât a movie star at all, he was just an average guy who complained, constantly, about common sense in Politics,â Trump posted.
Trumpâs post comes on the heels of Clooneyâs criticism of CBS News editor-in-chief Bari Weiss.
Clooney told âVarietyâ Tuesday âBari Weiss is dismantling CBS News as we speak.â He also noted networks such as CBS and ABC settled defamation lawsuits Trump initiated.
âIf CBS and ABC had challenged those lawsuits and said, âGo, f*ck yourself,â we wouldnât be where we are in the country. Thatâs simply the truth,â he said.
Weiss responded to Clooney in an email that included an âopen invitationâ to her newsroom.
âBonjour, Mr. Clooney! Big fan of your work. It sounds like youâd like to learn more about ours,â Weiss wrote. âThis is an open invitation to visit the CBS Broadcast Center, where Iâm spending the holidays working to relaunch the Evening News with my colleagues. Tune in January 5.â
