The pay of thousands of federal workers is being impacted by the government shutdown and President Donald Trump is pointing out that a majority of the workers that might be affected are Democrats.
According to the Associated Press, around 420,000 people are working without pay, while another 380,000 have been put on furlough. This was caused by Trump and Democratic lawmakers being unwilling to change their strategy on border security.
However, Trump claimed that those who are being hurt the most are Democrats.
Have the Democrats finally realized that we desperately need Border Security and a Wall on the Southern Border. Need to stop Drugs, Human Trafficking,Gang Members & Criminals from coming into our Country. Do the Dems realize that most of the people not getting paid are Democrats?

The president has been very clear on the need for border security, saying that he would do “whatever it takes” to get funding that would help create a strong border.
There are no definite answers to the accuracy of Trump’s statement, yet there are reports that suggest a larger number of federal employees are more likely to vote Democrat. However, Trump has also said he has heard support for the wall from some employees.
“These federal workers want the wall,” Trump said. “The only one that doesn’t want the wall are the Democrats.”
Some are becoming worried about the impacts of a prolonged shutdown. Muriel Bowser, the mayor of Washington D.C., sent a letter to the president pushing him to end the shutdown.
“Indeed, many DC residents, businesses including restaurants and hotels, and federal contractors will suffer severe impacts if the shutdown continues indefinitely,” said Bowser.
