Trump Kicks Mick Mulvaney Out of Oval Office for Coughing During Interview

President Donald Trump got into a spat with acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney during a new interview — and ejected Mulvaney from the Oval Office while the cameras rolled.

The candid moment came during Trump’s new interview with ABC News, the first televised sit-down interview the president has granted to an outlet besides Fox News in months.

Trump was speaking with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos about whether he will release his tax returns to the Senate when Mulvaney began coughing off-camera.

“And let’s do that over,” Trump said. “He’s coughing in the middle of my answer.”

Watch the video below, via ABC News:

“I don’t like that, you know,” Trump said as Stephanopoulos laughed. “I don’t like that.”

Mulvaney can’t be seen in the video, but Stephanopoulos notes that Trump is directing his ire towards his chief of staff.

“If you’re gonna cough, please leave the room.”

“You just can’t — you just can’t cough,” an exasperated Trump says, shaking his head and readying for another take as if he were filming an episode of “The Apprentice.”

But unlike in the president’s reality show past — or perhaps in friendlier interviews — the camera doesn’t stop for the uncomfortable moment.

“Okay, do you wanna do that a little differently then?” Trump says to the camera crew, before diving back into his answer.

  1. Ahh news.

This is why I stopped following IJR. Garbage site

  2. Lord knows someone continuously hacking in the background is annoying but is not worth noting.

  3. The most disgusting, insensitive, and poor human been, only to see him treating his staff that way, make me

    sick of my stomach.

      1. And having a hissy fit over a cough is the sign of a Herculean strength???

  4. What an ass. Never will I understand why anyone backs this arrogant idiot.

    1. what a narcissist and sociopath holly smoke what people see in him is insane it really tells me something about them. lol lol

  5. Gee, might as well start the impeachment proceedings now because this is a heinous crime.

Seriously. Why is this an article? I swear IJR refuses to write any stories that make conservatives look bad and then has IJR Blue write only stories that make the left look crazy.

    This article is not news.

    1. IJR is set up to cause dissention, but it is overweighted dissention against the left. I am a bit confused as to why they would do that and have Independent in their company name instead of Partisan.

      1. It is a normal tactic on social media, but a little more concerning coming from an actual news site.

Conservatives that I’m friends with like to reshare a lot of content from facebook group called, Occupy Demccrats Logic where they show images of outrageous tweets supposedly by some crazy progressive.

The tweets almost always come from parody accounts (one quick google search would confirm!) – but they pretend these are actual people and the conservatives just go insane.

I’m sure its done plenty by the left, but i haven’t seen any of my friends (who can be pretty far left) use that tactic.

        1. There are no real liberal media organizations equivalent to, say, what the various Koch Brothers or the Mercers have set up. This kind of manipulation is almost entirely coming from conservatives.

    2. There is SO MUCH in the ABC interview that deserves attention as in the delusional comments on everything from his internal polling to the contents of the Mueller report. —-I agree that Trump’s reaction to Mulvaney;s cough is inconsequential. Mulvaney is on video stating “Trump is a horrible person” BEFORE he voted for him and BEFORE he took the Budget Director job. BEFORE Mulvaney took acting chief of staff position, he was aware Trump had publicly humiliated the 2 previous chief of staff. ANYONE that works for Trump HAS to be aware of what they are getting into. ANYONE that voted for Trump knew what they were getting.

      1. Meh – I’ve applied for jobs when i didn’t like the hiring manager.

There are a lot of stories – not even related to the president – that really deserve attention, but i don’t see them being covered on this site. My only guess is they do not shine a kind light on conservatives (even if only a small portion of them).
