President Donald Trump took shots at Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Monday morning, torching the California Democrat as having “lost all control of Congress” and her Democratic Party after she came to the defense of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) on Sunday.
The president took jabs at Pelosi mid-Monday morning on Twitter, slamming the speaker of the House as having gotten “nothing” done since she retook the gavel in the House in January.
He then called on Pelosi to “look at the anti-Semitic, anti-Israel and ungrateful U.S. hate statements Omar has made” before blasting the speaker as being subservient to Omar, labeling the Minnesota Democrat as the speaker’s “leader” and “out of control.”
Before Nancy, who has lost all control of Congress and is getting nothing done, decides to defend her leader, Rep. Omar, she should look at the anti-Semitic, anti-Israel and ungrateful U.S. HATE statements Omar has made. She is out of control, except for her control of Nancy!

Some Democrats are concerned that Trump’s rhetoric could bring violence against Omar.
On Sunday, Pelosi asked Trump to remove a tweet he posted on Friday criticizing Omar’s comments from a March speech to the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) about the September 11 Attacks.
“Following the president’s tweet, I spoke with the Sergeant-at-Arms to ensure that Capitol Police are conducting a security assessment to safeguard Congresswoman Omar, her family and her staff. They will continue to monitor and address the threats she faces.”
Pelosi added that “the president’s words weigh a ton, and his hateful and inflammatory rhetoric creates real danger.”
The video in the tweet shows Omar’s comments from the CAIR speech with imagery from the September 11 attacks interlaid and a caption from the president saying: “We will never forget!”

Omar, while commenting on the civil liberties of Muslim individuals living in the U.S., said that CAIR was “founded after 9/11 because they recognized that some people did something and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties.”
Her comments received a lot of backlash, with Rep. Max Rose (D-N.Y.) lambasting them as “offensive” during a Friday appearance on Fox News, as IJR Red previously reported.
As IJR Red also reported, Pelosi has faced some trouble when trying to get things done in the House due to fractures between the moderate members and the “left flank” of her party, the latter of which she said is only “like five people.”
