After Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s testimony, President Donald Trump took to Twitter to share his support. Kavanaugh was accused by Christine Blasey Ford of sexual assault, which he strongly denies. Both testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday. Trump tweeted after the hearing was finished, slamming Democrats for how they handled the situation.
Judge Kavanaugh showed America exactly why I nominated him. His testimony was powerful, honest, and riveting. Democrats’ search and destroy strategy is disgraceful and this process has been a total sham and effort to delay, obstruct, and resist. The Senate must vote!

The president has been very outspoken in his support of Kavanaugh, and stated that while he would have handled it differently, he was impressed with Senate Republicans giving Ford a place to speak and be heard.
“Well, I think the Senate, the Republicans could not be nicer in the way they are handling this,” Trump said. “They could have pushed it through two and a half weeks ago and you wouldn’t be talking about it right now, which is frankly what I would have preferred. But they didn’t do that.” Trump allegedly called and encouraged the Supreme Court nominee before he testified. The committee vote is set for Friday, which will determine if his nomination will go forward.
