Trump Avoids Political Remarks as He Praises ‘Brave’ Military Personnel During Fourth of July Celebration

To President Donald Trump, it is important to honor those in the military while celebrating the Fourth of July.

While addressing the American people on Thursday during the “Salute to America” event in Washington, D.C., the president refrained from political rhetoric, opting instead to salute military forces and share how the American “spirit runs through the veins of every American patriot.”

“Today, we come together as one nation with this very special ‘Salute to America,'” Trump said while delivering his Independence Day speech in front of the Lincoln Memorial. “We celebrate our history, our people, and the heroes who proudly defend our flag — the brave men and women of the United States military.”

“The future of American freedom rests on the shoulders of men and women willing to defend it,” the president added.” Now is the chance to join our military and make a truly great statement in life, and you should do it.”

“As we gather this evening in the joy of freedom, we remember that we all share a truly extraordinary heritage,” the president told the crowd. “Together, we are part of one of the greatest stories ever told — the story of America.”

The celebration included multiple flyovers with military aircraft, including the U.S. Air Force — drawing huge applause from those in attendance.

Trump also tipped his hat to “all of the brave men and women” in the law enforcement, including police, first responders, sheriffs, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and Border Patrol.

As long as we stay true to our cause, as long as we remember our great history,” the president concluded his remarks. As long as we never stop fighting for a better future, then there will be nothing that America cannot do.”

I am glad to see that the bone-spur patriot had his day in the sun. I hate it that these Trump-hating anti-Americans can foul up the internet. Even the most despicable miscreant should be able to lead our country the way he deems fit. SHUT UP, DEMO-CRAPS!!!

This is truly what America means to me, and I have been missing it since President Ronald Reagan! To be proud of ones military, first responders and others, with a big time parade!!! Miss seeing the old fashioned parades in the cities and towns!!!

I applaud our president, Dr. Donald Trump. I especially want to recognize all of those brave airmen who protected our airports and planes during the Revolutionary War. Without them, gee, I cannot imagine where we all would be.

I salute President Trump. He is the one President we’ve had since President Reagan.

I watched parts of this online. What a wonderful presentation AND by an American president.

Contrast this with #44, who flew to Cairo on one 4th to apologize to the Muslim world, spent another in Indonesia, then at a later celebration rebuked Americans for “too much patriotism”.

Hmm…it’s clear that what one celebrates also says what one considers important.
