Monday marked ‘a new beginning,’ President Donald Trump wrote in the Israeli parliamentary guestbook.

Trump wrote the message Monday before addressing parliament, Mediaite reported.

“This is my great honor. A great and beautiful day, a new beginning,” Trump wrote as he was flanked by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his wife Sara, and Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana and his partner.

Israel announced Hamas released all 20 living Israeli hostages from Gaza earlier Monday.

The hostages were in the custody of the Red Cross. The agency transferred them to Israel.

The hostage release came after Trump’s Gaza peace deal after two years of war between Israel and Hamas.

Israel will release 2,000 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the remains of 28 hostages who did not survive.

Israeli officials has said not all remains are expected to be immediately released.

The president arrived in Israel at the start of the handover.

He is expected travel to Egypt for a regional peace summit aimed at securing the ceasefire.
