It’s been quite a year for President-elect Donald Trump.

The year started with him under indictment and convicted in a hush money scandal. Then, there were two apparent assassination attempts on his life. After all that, he won the election to return to the Oval Office.

And Thursday night, Trump received the”Patriot of the Year” award at Fox Nation’s sixth annual Patriot Awards in New York.

“We’re going to get things straightened out in this country,” Trump said.

In accepting the honorary award, Trump talked about the election that was predicted to be close, but in the end saw him win both the popular and electoral vote.

“We had just a spectacular election. They were thinking it was going to be close, and it wasn’t close,” he said.

Trump also spoke about his plans as he prepares to return to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., including addressing immigration, the economy and national security.

Watch the video below:

“We’re going to achieve it again and very fast. It’s going to be very fast because we have no choice,” Trump said. “But we’re going to do something that I’ve been talking about for eight years. We’re going to do it again. We have to do it again. We’re going to make America great again.”

The “Patriot of the Year”Award was one of many other awards given out in a night to celebrate America’s heroes.

Other awards are the “T2T Stephen Siller Back the Blue Award,” “Young Patriot,” “Salute to Service,” “FOX Weather Ultimate Patriot,” “Service to Veterans,” “Culture Warrior,” “Bravery” and “Courage.”
