On Tuesday, President Donald Trump slammed actor Robert De Niro on Twitter for his comments at an awards show Sunday night.

De Niro, Trump said, was a “very Low IQ individual”:

Trump’s attack came after De Niro denounced the president, saying “f**k Trump” at the 72nd Annual Tony Awards.

“It’s no longer ‘down with Trump,’ it’s ‘f**k Trump!'” De Niro said.

De Niro’s comments earned him a flood of critics, including actress Alana Stewart, who said he was “so disrespectful”:

De Niro wasn’t done, however, as he took the opportunity on Monday to publicly apologize for Trump’s “idiotic behavior” at the G-7 summit this past weekend.

“It’s a disgrace, and I apologize to Justin Trudeau, too, and to the other people at the G-7. It’s disgusting,” De Niro said at an event in Toronto.
