Trump Says Sending Military to Venezuela ‘an Option’: CBS

U.S. President Donald Trump said that sending the military to Venezuela was “an option” and that he had turned down President Nicolas Maduro’s request for a meeting.

“Certainly, it’s something that’s on the – it’s an option,” Trump said in an interview with CBS to be broadcast on Sunday.

Trump said Maduro requested a meeting months ago and he turned down the Venezuela leader.

“I’ve turned it down because we’re very far along in the process,” he said in excerpts from a CBS “Face the Nation” interview. “So, I think the process is playing out – very, very big tremendous protests.”

Tens of thousands of people have thronged the streets to protest the Maduro government, wearing the yellow, red and blue of the Venezuelan flag.

As domestic and international pressure mounts on Maduro to step down, a senior air force general disavowed him in a video that circulated earlier on Saturday, expressing his allegiance to parliament head and self-proclaimed interim president Juan Guaido.

Do not agree with this idea. NO Country is sending troops to help us fight against Socialism here in the USA; so, we have no business sending OUR troops to help fight Venezuela’s Socialism. IT is their problem; let them deal with it. OUR troops should be sent to protect OUR Country from the Illegal Invaders coming across the Southern border.

John Bolton is not pushing Trump to send troops to Venezuela to fight socialism. Maduro is the first dictator, first election rigger, first foreign leader Trump Org did not want to do business. Who knows why Trump picked Venezuela–perhaps he wants to “seize the oil.” It is Trump. Who knows. Could be a “wag the dog” move. Fighting socialism, nah.

I have been wondering if he might be using this as his foreign deflection point, to raise his favorability numbers. Coincidence only?

The process is called a right-wing coup and this one isn’t exactly going to plan, therefore the boneheaded idea of sending in our troups.

We just never learn.

We are also a member of the OAS and we signed an agreement not to invade member countries.
