Trump Slams ‘Unfair’ Saturday Night Live for Making Skits ‘Total Republican Hit Jobs’

President Donald Trump took to Twitter to express his frustration with the “total Republican hit jobs” that aired on Saturday Night Live.

The president has been a longtime critic of SNL, but this week he also slammed NBC for being the network that carries the show. He claimed that that network colluded with SNL to bash Republicans “without retribution.”

The president’s comments were likely sparked by a few of the skits ran by SNL on Saturday night. The first was the show’s cold open featuring Alec Baldwin as President Trump. In the opening, they mocked the president for calling a national emergency to fund the border wall.

“We need wall. Okay? We have a tremendous amount of drugs flowing into the country from the southern border or the ‘brown line’ as many people have asked me not to call it. That’s why we need wall. Wall works. Wall makes us safe.”

The clip also mocked the president’s weight following his recent medical examination that showed he had gained a few pounds.

“I’m here to declare a very urgent, important national emergency. This is a big one so I don’t want to waste any time. That’s why first I would like to blow my own horn a little bit. I had a great health exam. 6′ 7″, 185 pounds, shredded.”

In a separate clip, SNL did a skit featuring Kate McKinnon and Alex Moffat as Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.). The skit showed Pelosi and Schumer trying not to celebrate the deal signed by President Trump, which offered little money for a wall.

Between making fun of his weight, mocking his national emergency declaration, and claiming he lost to Pelosi and Schumer, it is easy to see how the president could claim the show was filled with “Republican hit jobs.”

  1. The sure sign of an alpha dog is someone who uses their position of ultimate power to lock up comedians.

  2. I have not watched neither NBC news nor SNL for years. The former lacks substance, and the latter lacks humor. Also, please proof your copy before posting your stories. Your use of “ran” was incorrect.

  3. Trump hasbeen getting bashed since before he was big deal anymore we all know is a hit job.all I know is he is doing what he campaigned on An that’s a first for me An I followed politics for 50 years.

    1. Have NEVER watched any late night “comedy” show. Have better things to do with my life than to waste it on anti-American propaganda and garbage.

Also, I began following politics right after I registered to vote in 1956 at age 21. Have not missed too much even during my military moves around the World. I will say I believe President Trump is THE greatest POTUS for all he wanted to do and has done for We the People. I certainly look for him to easily win a second term. REPEAL the 22nd Amend.

      1. I do not share them but I respect that you are entitled to your opinions. But, WHY would we repeal the 22nd Amendment? God willing, Trump is not going to be the last POTUS of the US. I am guessing that you would not want Obama to be able to run for a third term. Always think through the consequences of your suggested actions.

      2. “I certainly look for him to easily win a second term.” James

Do you have a Plan B, however? As a military person, you know that you need to have options. None of us can predict the future with certainty, so what options do you foresee for yourself?

    2. He’s been a butt of jokes for DECADES–all of his own making! WHY, would anyone perceive he could stop bizarre or illegal behavior that makes him a joke? Crazy hairdo & adultery. Calls pretending to be John Miller & John Barron. The many lawsuits he filed & those filed against him. Trump U fraud was filed before he declared his candidacy. Fines for violations of federal, state & gambling regs. The birther nonsense. YOU knew he was a comedian’s dream BEFORE you voted!
