Trump Laid Out the ‘Agenda of the American People’ in SOTU — Ocasio-Cortez Thinks He Didn’t Do His ‘Homework’

After the president delivered the State of the Union, declaring the “state of our union is strong,” self-described Democratic socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) criticized his address.

As IJR Red reported, President Donald Trump drew applause from the crowd, who even erupted in “USA” chants, as he shared the accomplishments of his administration.

“America is again winning each and every day,” he said. “Members of Congress, the state of our union is strong.”

Watch the video below:

Addressing the “agenda of the American people” during his speech, Trump said, “The agenda I will lay out this evening is not a Republican agenda or Democrat agenda, it is the agenda of the American people.”

“Many of us have campaigned on the same core promises, to defend American jobs and demand fair trade for American workers, to rebuild and revitalize our nation’s infrastructure, to reduce the price of health care and prescription drugs, to create an immigration system that is safe, lawful, modern and secure, and to pursue a foreign policy that puts America’s interests first.”

Additionally, the president rebuked socialism during his address, drawing another round of “USA” chants.

Ocasio-Cortez didn’t seem to support the president’s State of the Union address, telling MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow President Trump was “unprepared.”

“I don’t think that he did his homework. We have seen State of the Union addresses delivered by many presidents, Democrat and Republican, they almost always have substantive policies that are offered,” she said. “There was no plan. There was no plan to address our opioid crisis, there was no plan to address the cost of health care. There was no plan to increase wages. I had to ask myself, ‘Does the campaign stop or is this a State of the Union?’”

Watch the video below:

During the State of the Union, President Trump highlighted the importance of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) — Ocasio-Cortez has previously criticized ICE — while also mentioning rescuing young girls and women from sex trafficking.

However, Ocasio-Cortez’s view of the president seemed to overtake the moment of applauding his call to end sex trafficking, as she refused to clap.

Check out the moment below:

“Victory is not winning for our party, victory is winning for our country,” President Trump said during his address, which received a 76 percent approval rating, according to a CBS News poll.

Apparently, Trump’s SOTU address didn’t include stealing a co-workers tips like AOC is guilty of back in her previous profession as “waitress”, so AOC didn’t like it. Apparently theft is a positive on a politician’s resume, so, “you go girl!” As good socialists we should all share the “wealth” (with… Read more »

Yeah, I heard that her house was in a well healed neighborhood in West Chester, NY, and as a matter of fact, it was. She’s playing you morons. As far as her theft of co-worker’s tips, it was a real account of a waitress that worked with AOC when she… Read more »
