Tlaib told NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday that it’s “not about the 2020 election”; instead, “it’s about doing what’s right now for our country.”
“I think it is moving toward that,” she said on whether congressional Democrats will continue to press forward on impeachment. “It’s going to demand that.”

National Republican Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel caught wind of Tlaib’s comment and tweeted that Tlaib “continues to obsess over impeachment.”
McDaniel placed the reasoning of the impeachment narrative behind the 2020 presidential election, claiming it’s because “they’re scared they can’t beat him at the ballot box.”
Rashida Tlaib continues to obsess over impeachment this morning.
Democrats want to impeach @realDonaldTrump because they don’t have any other message heading into 2020 and they’re scared they can’t beat him at the ballot box.

“Impeach for what,” the president asked in response to the RNC chairwoman’s tweet before touting his economic achievements, among several others.
As for the booming economy, several 2020 Democratic presidential candidates — such as former Vice President Joe Biden — have tried to claim that Trump “inherited an economy from Obama-Biden administration.” However, as IJR Red dived further into it, they left out the full story.
“Dems are Obstructionists!” the president declared on Monday.
Impeach for what, having created perhaps the greatest Economy in our Country’s history, rebuilding our Military, taking care of our Vets (Choice), Judges, Best Jobs Numbers Ever, and much more? Dems are Obstructionists! https://t.co/NrTIxU9ZnA

As several congressional Democrats have called for Trump’s impeachment, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) claimed last week that the president is engaged in a “cover-up” and is “crying out” for impeachment.
However, the speaker is trying to wrangle in her seemingly divided House, as she’s claiming Democrats won’t be moving toward impeachment at the moment, as IJR Red reported.
As IJR Red noted, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) blasted the “bunch of crazy” Democrats using special counsel Robert Mueller‘s investigation report to try to continue their impeachment narrative. Instead, he suggested it’ll only help Trump’s re-election in 2020.
