Trump’s Twitter Rant Against UK Ambassador Who Called Him ‘Insecure’ Spills Into Second Day

President Donald Trump is pushing back against the U.K. diplomat who called him “insecure” in a leaked diplomatic cable — by ranting about him on Twitter for the second straight day.

A series of leaked diplomatic cables published by The Daily Mail over the weekend revealed the candid picture U.K. Ambassador to the U.S. Kim Darroch was painting of the Trump administration in sensitive communications with his bosses back in London. Darroch didn’t mince words in the messages, labeling Trump as inept, incompetent, and insecure.

Prime Minister Theresa May’s office has expressed regret over the publication of the messages, but Trump took to Twitter once more on Tuesday to respond to Darroch’s private comments.

“The wacky Ambassador that the U.K. foisted upon the United States is not someone we are thrilled with, a very stupid guy,” Trump wrote in an early morning tweet on Tuesday, arguing that the U.K. ambassador should be more preoccupied with Brexit.

“I don’t know the Ambassador but have been told he is a pompous fool,” he added.

Trump’s Tuesday tweet comes after a similar message on Monday. The president vowed to “no longer deal with” the ambassador in a Monday tweet and similarly claimed that he never knew the ambassador.

But if Trump didn’t know Darroch, a number of members of his inner circle certainly did. Politico Playbook published an extensive list of just some of the times Trump’s closest advisers attended parties at the invitation of the ambassador who now draws the ire of the president.

That list includes Kellyanne Conway, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Sean Spicer, Rudy Giuliani, and Steve Mnuchin.

Why can’t this just be handled internally… this does not need to be on Twitter.
