Following the violent events in Berkeley, California, with antifa groups over the weekend, Tucker Carlson invited Joey Gibson, founder of “Patriot Prayer,” onto his show to discuss the current state of free speech and antifa.
Gibson’s group had a peaceful free speech rally scheduled for Saturday but was forced to cancel after hundreds of counterprotesters planned to attend. City leaders advised Gibson that the event would likely turn violent.
On Sunday, Gibson was present in Berkeley when antifa leftists paraded through the streets beating reporters, Trump supporters, and just about anyone who disagreed with them.

On “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Carlson stated:
“This is a political militia that is doing the bidding, in effect, of Nancy Pelosi, and Gov. Jerry Brown, and the mayor of Berkeley, and all these supposedly mainstream Democratic politicians, and this is a militia hurting American citizens for saying what they think.”
“We talked to quite a few police officers. Most police officers, they joined the force because they want to help people out in these situations, and unfortunately there’s people higher up who are not allowing them to do it. Trust me, they didn’t want to stand around and just watch. We have mayors all over California and in this country that are using the police forces for their own political game.”
