Twitter users are fired up over Sen. Lindsey Graham‘s (R-S.C.) advice to Donald Trump Jr. to ignore a Congressional subpoena, urging them to call for the senator’s resignation in an overwhelming fashion.

On Tuesday, the hashtag #LindseyGrahamResign peaked the top of Twitter’s trending list, following his comments with Fox host Maria Bartiromo that encouraged shielding Trump Jr. from speaking up to the subpoena issued by his colleague Sen. Richard Burr (R-Va.).

“If I were Donald Trump Jr.’s lawyer, I would tell him, you don’t need to go back into this environment anymore,” Graham said. “You’ve been there for hours and hours and nothing being alleged here changes the outcome of the Mueller investigation.”

“I would call it a day,” he added.

The Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman also told reporters on Monday, according to the Hill, that he would advise Trump Jr. to “just show up and plead the Fifth and it’s over with,” referring to the Constitutional amendment which allows those giving testimony the opportunity to not answer any questions that may self-incriminate.

Graham’s advice was not taken well by Twitter and was picked up by the Democratic Coalition who tweeted out Tuesday morning, “Lindsey Graham should resign,” encouraging users to retweet the hashtag “#LindseyGrahamResign.”

“Lindsey Graham is a traitor,” they added, in a separate tweet on Monday night.

Since the creation of the hashtag #LindseyGrahamResign on Monday night, it has already been very popular and has been used over 175,000 times, in less than 24 hours.

Some Twitter users, including the Democratic Coalition, have used the hashtag as an opportunity to resurface throwback videos of Graham’s hypocrisy, which includes his prior criticisms of Trump, as well as his vast contradictions in beliefs he held during the impeachment of former President Bill Clinton.

Additionally, some people have used the hashtag #LindseyGrahamResign, to express their disdain of Graham’s recent comments to Trump Jr., by calling it “witness tampering & obstruction of justice,” labeling him a “traitor,” and outright deeming it “crap.”

In what appears to be a woven web of contradictions, Graham seemingly changed his tune again on Tuesday, telling reporters that “Don Jr. is not above the law” but does not want to throw him “back in the circus” of congressional testimony.

Senator Graham is doing the right thing and you who are wanting to silence him are trying to stop the truth narrative. Why are you so angry when things are the best they’ve been in this country in decades?

Senator Graham is correct. There is no reason why Don Jr should testify AGAIN. He’s told the Dimwits all they wanted to know. NOW they are setting a politically motivated perjury trap in order to indict one Trump family member because Trump beat their female career criminal “Queen” in 2016.

The Democrats haven’t learned from history regarding polling or social media data sources. While I’m not a fan of Lindsey Graham for his red flag law support, he’s certainly entitled to state his opinion.

General Confusion

The Hon. Senator from S.C. seems unaware that Republican Congressmen are susceptible to foot-in-mouth disease, too.

But someone who is also the Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman advising a person to ignore a subpoena is too confused to hold office.

Perfect example of why you will NEVER find me on twitter. It is so full of twits.
