Many Were Outraged by McCabe’s Consideration of the 25th Amendment ― Elizabeth Warren Just Endorsed It

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) told reporters that she would support the Department of Justice (DOJ) had it moved forward with its consideration of invoking the 25th Amendment.

As IJR previously reported, McCabe told “60 Minutes” host Scott Pelley that the DOJ considered a strategy for invoking the 25th Amendment to remove President Donald Trump from office by getting half of the Cabinet to vote against him.

Watch Pelley explain McCabe’s plan:

“The highest levels of American law enforcement were trying to figure out what to do with the president,” Pelley said. “[…] They were counting noses. They were not asking Cabinet members whether they would vote for or against removing the president, but they were speculating — this person would be with us, that person would not be.”

The president was outraged when he heard the news from McCabe. He called McCabe a “disgrace” and questioned how the American people would feel about law enforcement agents overriding their democratic vote.

While some question if this could be considered a “bureaucratic coup,” Warren said she didn’t see a problem with McCabe’s plan because the DOJ is not loyal to the president, according to the Nevada Independent. It is loyal to the American people.

“My point here is that if they believe that Donald Trump cannot fulfill the obligations of his office, then they have a constitutional responsibility to invoke the 25th amendment. Their loyalty under law is not to him personally. It is to the Constitution of the United States and to the people of United States.”

But as the president noted on Twitter, the loyalty of the DOJ to the American people could be taken either way. The president sees the situation as an affront to democracy, while Warren sees it as law enforcement doing its job.

Of course, sewing a deeper rift between the president and the DOJ could help Warren’s bid to replace Trump.

She officially announced her candidacy for president earlier this month after a brief exploratory committee.

Trump has done nothing to warrant removal by the 25th Amendment criteria. Previous Presidents were more unqualified to hold the Office of POTUS than Trump. Take Muslim Marxist Barry Hussein Soetoro as a prime example of ineptitude and anti-American agendas.

I suggest the 22nd Amendment be repealed so that Trump and Pence can serve more than 2 terms. OR, Add to the 22nd that members of the House and Senate can only serve two terms in Office.
