Country music star Carrie Underwood is known for her powerful performances, and she certainly delivered Wednesday night during a moving tribute to the victims of the deadly shooting in Las Vegas in October.
At one point, Underwood was so overcome with emotion, she stopped in the middle of her performance of “Softly and Tenderly Jesus Is Calling” and bowed her head as the names of the 58 victims scrolled across screens in the Nashville stadium.
In addition to leaving dozens dead, the shooting during the Route 91 Harvest festival, a country music festival in Las Vegas, left nearly 500 people wounded. Country singer Jason Aldean was performing when the shots first rang out.

Underwood, wearing a stunning white gown, sang the moving Christian song in the middle of the arena, surrounded by concertgoers raising candles to honor the lives lost during the horrific attack.
When the “Jesus, Take the Wheel” singer’s voice cracked with emotion, the audience started applauding, celebrating the lives of those who died in Las Vegas.
