The news that Fox News has parted ways with top-rated host Tucker Carlson was seen as a shocking and abrupt development in the media world.

And based on the final segment of what would turn out to be Carlson’s last show, it would appear the decision was sudden.

On Friday, Carlson invited Tyler Morrell, a pizza delivery man who went viral after he was caught on video stopping a fleeing suspect by tripping him, on the show.

Morrell delivered some pizzas from a Pennsylvania restaurant to the Fox News host.

Watch the final segment below:

Here were the final moments of @TuckerCarlson Tonight – #Tucker's final guest was the pizza deliveryman who tripped up a suspected car thief. The driver – Tyler Morrell – brought a bunch of pizzas, so the two sat and ate them while mocking the thief.

The two then indulged in some pizza on-air while discussing the viral incident.

Finally, as the show came to a close, Carlson said, “What a great way to end the week.”

“That’s it for us for the week. We’ll be back,” he concluded. “By the way, the entire episode of ‘Let Them Eat Bugs’ — not quite as good as pizza — streaming now on Fox Nation. Use the promo code ‘Originals’ for 30 days free,” he continued.

Finally, Carlson shared what would turn out the be the last comments on his show as he said, “We’ll be back on Monday. In the meantime, have the best weekend ever with the ones that you love, and we’ll see you then.”

On Monday morning, it was revealed the network and Carlson had “agreed to part ways.”

In a statement on Monday, Fox News said, “FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor.
Mr. Carlson’s last program was Friday April 21st.”

“Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 PM/ET starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named,” it continued.

Carlson’s show repeatedly drew the highest ratings of cable news programming.

The news came days after Fox News agreed to settle Dominion Voting System’s defamation lawsuit against it for $787.5 million.

Dan Bongino, who hosted a weekend show on the network and a show on its streaming service, also revealed last week he was parting ways with the company.
