Donald Trump Jr.’s new book, “Triggered: How the Left Thrives on Hate and Wants to Silence Us” has been knocked off its top spot on The New York Times best-seller list by the anonymous inside-the-White House tell-all that was just released.
Trump Jr.’s book has spent three weeks on the list and is now at the #2 spot, just above Michelle Obama’s memoir, which is currently sitting at #4 and has been on the best-seller list for nearly a year.
The president’s eldest son’s book rocketed to the top of the charts just after its release but reporters were immediately skeptical about the figures. The New York Times’ listing noted that some retailers had reported receiving bulk orders of the book. And an FEC filing from the Republican National Committee showed that the group spent nearly $100,000 on copies of the book.
New York Times reporter Nick Confessore was the first to notice the FEC filing and also reported that Turning Point USA — a group for young Republicans — has also bought copies of Donald Trump Jr.’s book in bulk. Confessore even tweeted out a photo of boxes of the books stacked in the Turning Point offices.

The anonymous White House tell-all (which is titled simply “A Warning”) has been received with some skepticism from the press corps as well — there have been a string of tell-alls that have each told mostly the same story about the president’s ineptitude. The new book paints a portrait of Trump as completely unaware of the office, once describing him as “a twelve-year-old in an air traffic control tower.”
The tell-all also received a tongue-lashing from White House communications director Stephanie Grisham, who bemoaned, “The coward who wrote this book didn’t put their name on it because it is nothing but lies.”
