Donald Trump Jr.’s new book, “Triggered: How the Left Thrives on Hate and Wants to Silence Us” has been knocked off its top spot on The New York Times best-seller list by the anonymous inside-the-White House tell-all that was just released.

Trump Jr.’s book has spent three weeks on the list and is now at the #2 spot, just above Michelle Obama’s memoir, which is currently sitting at #4 and has been on the best-seller list for nearly a year.

The president’s eldest son’s book rocketed to the top of the charts just after its release but reporters were immediately skeptical about the figures. The New York Times’ listing noted that some retailers had reported receiving bulk orders of the book. And an FEC filing from the Republican National Committee showed that the group spent nearly $100,000 on copies of the book.

New York Times reporter Nick Confessore was the first to notice the FEC filing and also reported that Turning Point USA — a group for young Republicans — has also bought copies of Donald Trump Jr.’s book in bulk. Confessore even tweeted out a photo of boxes of the books stacked in the Turning Point offices.

The anonymous White House tell-all (which is titled simply “A Warning”) has been received with some skepticism from the press corps as well — there have been a string of tell-alls that have each told mostly the same story about the president’s ineptitude. The new book paints a portrait of Trump as completely unaware of the office, once describing him as “a twelve-year-old in an air traffic control tower.”

The tell-all also received a tongue-lashing from White House communications director Stephanie Grisham, who bemoaned, “The coward who wrote this book didn’t put their name on it because it is nothing but lies.”

What do you think?

OK. I should have been clearer.

Naming the book title four paragraphs down AND after a tweet is shoddy journalism. A responsible editor should have included it in the lede.

I failed to mention the “anonymous” in my post because that’s lack of imagination AND cowardice. Some person mentioned authors who at least came up with pseudonyms, but that effort and creativity eluded “anonymous”.

“Anyone who writes as anonymous is more than likely a liar from the word go.” Karin Callaway Statements like this elicit characteristics of the person who wrote them. What is it about YOU that keeps you from believing an author who won’t or can’t bring himself or herself to be identified. Lot of authors in the past published their works anonymously. Sir Walter Scott, Jane Austen (“Sense and Sensibility” authored “by a Lady”), Charles Dickens was “Boz” until “The Pickwick Papers” (1837). Actually, most fiction in the 1700s were anonymous. Some female authors have published under male names and vice… Read more »

The book “A Warning”, is probably by the same person who wrote the complaint about Ukraine. Anyone who writes as anonymous is more than likely a liar from the word go. We get that all the time from the MSM (LBM) and EVERY darned one of the Democrats. It will never be in my house, but I will buy 6 of D.T. Jrs, Book because I have five close relatives in the same area as me to get Christmas for. Now are you going to say that I am breaking the law because I am not only buying 1. I… Read more »

If readers have to leave your article/post to find out ENTIRELY RELEVANT FACTS for themselves, you’ve failed as a journalist or wannabe.

If all you do is rush to badmouth Trump or affiliated groups YOU are fake news. No wonder some persons can’t seem to find jobs not IJR.

Okay people who’ve read real journalists, what’s wrong with this:
“Donald Trump Jr.’s new book, “Triggered: How the Left Thrives on Hate and Wants to Silence Us” has been knocked off its top spot on The New York Times best-seller list by the anonymous inside-the-White House tell-all that was just released.”

What’s the name of the #1 and/or who wrote it? These are critical facts. No wonder some persons can’t seem to find jobs not IJR.
