Woman Telling Customer Service About Ex-Fiancé Has Flowers With a Sealed Note Showing Up At HIS Door

Christina Grady was going through a tough break-up when she had to make a call that most people would dread—calling the credit card company. Buying furniture for her new apartment had caused Capital One to flag her card for suspicious activity.

However, when Christina called the company to straighten out the problem, she ended up with the “best story ever.”

OMG, best story ever… My Capital One card got shut off for suspicious activity when I started to send furniture to a…

According to Scary Mommy, when Christina called Capital One, she ended up confiding her woes to a surprisingly sympathetic ear. As she wrote on Facebook:

“I called and explained to this awesome woman, Tonya that my fiancé had broken up with me and I’d moved. She was like, ‘Girl, I am giving you 4,500 free miles. Go on vacation. Take so many pictures of yourself all happy and post them all over that Instagram.'”

But that wasn’t the end of the story. Five days after she spoke to Tonya, Christina received a surprising message from her ex. Someone had sent flowers to Christina… at her ex’s address.

Christina tells Independent Journal Review that she was worried at first that a “creeper” had sent them. However, when she went to pick the flowers up, she got a wonderful surprise.

“I open the card, TONYA KYY905 Capital One!!! She sent me flowers! To my ex fiancé’s house in a sealed card!!!!!!”

It was an incredible lift for Christina, who says that her new goal is to meet Tonya KYY905. She hopes that Ellen DeGeneres or someone similar will hear her story and give Christina the chance to present Tonya with some flowers as well.

Unpacking is hard. But then I ask myself, "What would TONYA KYY905 say?" And then I'm like, "Girl, you got this!" #TONYAKYY905ISMYHERO

You might expect the mysterious flower delivery to bother Christina’s former fiancé. However, Christina tells Independent Journal Review that he was actually very happy for her.

“At first he asked who they were from and I said, ‘Someone really cool.’ Now he knows. … He loves to hear that someone was trying to brighten my day.”

Seeing Tonya reach out to help another woman had Christina calling her a “genius and a role model.” Although she says it was the flowers that “blew her mind” more than $45 worth of flight credit, she has decided how she’s going to spend it, telling Independent Journal Review:

“Capital One asked in the thread what I would do with the miles. I decided I’m going to fly to what would have been my March 4, 2017 wedding, put that wedding dress on and take a bunch of pictures of me “marrying” pizza. I hope they’ll send Tonya!”

More than anything else, Christina has been inspired by the thoughtfulness and generosity of a stranger. Her reaction helps demonstrate that kindness is contagious.

Christina tells Independent Journal Review just how far Tonya KKY905’s kindness will go:

“I do behavioral therapy with children with autism in their homes and schools. So much of my job is just getting people to see them, to accept them, to be kind to them. Tonya KYY905 proved to me that a little kindness can go a long, long way,”

She adds: “I’ll be inspired by her for a long time, in my work, in how to treat a stranger down on their luck, in everything. Tonya KYY905 is my hero!”
