Two juveniles are being detained after they were charged in connection with the mass shooting that took place after the Super Bowl parade in Kansas City, Missouri.

“A news release from the Jackson County Family Court said the juveniles were charged Thursday and are being detained in the county’s Juvenile Detention Center ‘on gun-related and resisting arrest charges,’” the Associated Press reported. “The release said it is ‘anticipated that additional charges are expected in the future as the investigation by the Kansas City Police Department continues.’”

No further information was released. Juvenile cases In Missouri, as well as other states, kept private. Those hearings are not open to the public, the AP reported.

Originally, three juveniles were detained, but one was not involved, according to Kansas City Police.

“Police are looking for others who may have been involved and are calling for witnesses, victims and people with cellphone video of the violence to call a dedicated hotline,” according to the AP.

The legal happenings are concurrent to a city struggling with what happened Wednesday.

One person died and 22 were injured when shots rang out at the end of the parade and rally. More than half of the 22 injured were children.

“By Friday, two people remained in critical condition and one was in serious condition. Most of the injured children were out of the hospital and expected to recover,” the AP reported.

The fact that juveniles are the impetus behind this tragedy weighs heavily on the parade-goers.

“Police believe a dispute between several people led to the shooting,” the AP wrote.

Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a mother and local DJ, has been the lone fatality.

Taylor Swift, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce’s girlfriend, donated $100,000 to Lopez-Galvan’s family.

“Two $50,000 donations were posted Friday under the singer’s name on a GoFundMe page. Swift’s representative confirmed the donations to Variety, and The Associated Press independently verified the posts,” according to the AP.

The celebration was born out of the Chief’s win Sunday over the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in overtime.

“‘The shooting occurred despite the presence of more than 800 police officers in the area, including on top of nearby structures,’ said Mayor Quinton Lucas, who attended with his wife and mother and ran for safety when the shots were fired,” the AP reported. The city’s St. Patrick’s Day parade is expected to be held in March.

“We have parades all the time. I don’t think they’ll end. Certainly we recognized the public safety challenges and issues that relate to them,” Lucas said.
