While the national stage has had some of the most viral rants and meltdowns by liberals in 2025, these meltdowns are also a local phenomenon.

These moments didn’t get much national attention. However, these five were notable.

Oct. 9: School Board Member Who Compared TPUSA To KKK Cries When Confronted

School board member Allison Vick Spillman criticized Albemarle County Public Schools in Virginia for allowing the Turning Point USA (TPUSA) chapter at Western Albemarle High School to host a speaker discussing sex changes during a lunchtime meeting in the posting on her personal Facebook account, saying she was “beyond livid” as a “proud parent of a trans student” and comparing the conservative student group. Days later, at a school board meeting, she spoke, breaking down in tears as she read a statement.

WATCH:

“This has been a difficult week for me, for students, for families and for our school community. I want to take a moment to share what happened and sorry, and what I will do going forward,” Spillman claimed as she appeared to choke back a sob. “Last week I did make a Facebook post on my personal and private account. I expressed my concerns about a speaker invited to Western Albemarle High School and within hours, someone screenshot my post and shared it with media outlets and political organizations.”

At least two parents of students who joined the TPUSA chapter demanded Spillman’s resignation.

Nov.13: A Liberal Cries Over A TPUSA Chapter Starting

Officials at Royal Oak High School in Metro Detroit approved a Turning Point USA chapter on Oct. 21, according to Fox News, prompting protests from left-wing students and groups, including a walkout. But when one left-wing speaker at a school board meeting spoke about that chapter being allowed to start, the tears fell.

WATCH:

“By providing a space and a charter to exist in our high school, are we not signaling to our LGBTQ plus community, people of color, people with neurodivergencies, and those struggling with mental illness that they are not safe at school anymore?” Kim Johnson said before breaking into tears. “How can we keep sending such a mixed signal to students and staff? Royal Oak Schools have long championed that they are ‘No place for hate’ buildings. I think everyone in this room, parents, students, staff and community members have the opportunity to stand up and walk the walk right now in this moment, when our young people need us the most.”

Nov. 18: A Teachers’ Union Leader Attacks ICE

United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested 81 illegal immigrants in Charlotte, North Carolina, at the start of operation “Charlotte’s Web,” in the latest operation to enforce immigration laws. Left-wing pastors, teachers’ union leaders and a left-wing candidate for mayor of Asheville all demanded action during the press conference streamed by the Buncombe County Association of Educators to ban ICE from city property, similar to an order issued by Democratic Mayor Brandon Johnson of Chicago.

Should school officials allow Turning Point USA chapters at local high schools?

“We appreciate the public statements that many of our local and state leaders have made in response to this recent deployment,” Asheville City Association of Educators (ACAE) President Carson Bridges said during the event at the Land of Sky United Church of Christ, which had a “Black Lives Matter” banner hanging prominently. “But statements alone don’t keep children safe. Policies do, resolutions do, action does.”

The teachers’ union has since deleted the video from their Facebook page.

Dec. 9: Democrat Lawmaker Says White Kids Should Feel Guilty

After Republican state Sen. Lindsey Tichenor of Smithfield, Kentucky, introduced legislation to ban DEI from public schools in the state, Democratic state Rep. Sarah Stalker of Louisville, Kentucky, objected to the bill, saying DEI allowed students to “reflect” on the “historical privilege” white people had during a Dec. 9 hearing.

WATCH:

“I’m going to be honest, I don’t feel good about being white every day for a lot of reasons,” Stalker claimed. “Because it’s a point of privilege that I get to move through the world in a way that so many of my other colleagues and friends and family members and of the community don’t get the privilege to do and I’m just a female, just a woman, just a white woman.”

Dec.16 : Blue City Police Chief Compares Somali Immigrants To Mary and Jesus

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara attacked ICE operations after revelations of at least $1 billion in welfare fraud targeting the state’s programs emerged in the city during a Dec. 16 press conference, comparing illegal immigrants to the parents of Jesus.

“It’s especially personal to me, having been raised a Catholic, to be in a Christian church this morning as we are approaching Christmas,” O’Hara continued. “And I cannot help but think of what is happening in our city today and how that echoes with how outsiders have been treated for thousands of years, how Mary and Joseph themselves were considered outsiders and forced to stay in a barn. That’s what we’re getting ready to commemorate as Christians around the world while all of this fear is happening right here in our town.”

WATCH:

O’Hara had previously apologized at a Nov. 20 press conference after he discussed crime by “groups of East African kids” during a Nov. 11 interview following a Change.org petition demanding an apology that had gathered only 629 signatures.
