Smith called out Democratic California Sen. Alex Padilla on a June 12 episode of “The Stephen A. Smith Show” for his disruptive behavior during a presser held by Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem the same day. Padilla had interrupted Noem’s remarks on the riots occurring in Los Angeles at the time, prompting security to forcibly remove him from the room.
“Can Kristi Noem speak? Could you have waited till she finished to ask your questions — to shout your questions?” Smith asked. “You are a senator, right? You couldn’t wait? So that was just you out of control because you were just losing it, huh?”
“You — a United States senator — couldn’t compose yourself and let the head of Homeland Security finish her thoughts before you asked a question?” he continued. “Couldn’t do that, huh?”

“Same old song and dance. Thought we heard this before,” Smith said. “I thought that was over and done with the minute you lost the election with the popular vote and the Electoral College vote and losing every swing state. I thought we were over that! But evidently not.”
“No matter what you feel about the president of the United States, do you think that’s the time, while we’re in the middle of such strife, to be calling for the impeachment of the President of the United States?” he added. “Particularly if you’re a representative, you’re an elected official in the United States of America? I don’t think so.”

“[W]hat [Pritzker] should be doing is this: ‘Excuse me, we gon’ get this together. I’m gon’ let the president do what he suggested. I’m gon’ get the help of the federal government to put a stop to this,’” Smith said. “He could say something that simple — but it would be giving the president credit. It would be giving the other side credit.”
“And obviously, that’s where politicization kicks into play — because people are of that mindset thinking along those lines that it’s all about politics — because you don’t want to receive the obvious help that you need!” he continued. “It’s just inexcusable. There’s no doubt about it.”

“[T]he Epstein files were in existence and free to have been open during the Biden administration! You were there for four years!” Smith said. “How come you didn’t open it as a Democratic party then!?”
“[F]rom my understanding, the same files that were open or being open now, with the 220 pages of documents or whatever it is, with various emails, that could have been done when Biden was in office!” he added. “Well, why didn’t you do it if it’s so important now!?”
5. Stephen A. Smith Goes Nuclear On Mark Kelly For Telling Military To Disobey Trump

Furthermore, Smith berated Democratic Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly on “Straight Shooter with Stephen A.” on Nov. 26 for participating in a Nov. 18 video urging military members to disobey “illegal” orders from the Trump administration — without specifying any.
“How dare you do that!? I’m not a military person and I know better than that!” Smith said. “You don’t tell military men and women to ignore an order from the commander-in-chief! You don’t do that!”
