Unlike his father, Donald Trump Jr. has been very active on Instagram, a platform where he posts photos of himself fishing or screenshots of memes that catch his eye.

But on Sunday, Trump Jr. posted a photo that raised eyebrows for a different reason. The president’s eldest son uploaded a photo of himself with a rifle with a magazine featuring the likeness of Hillary Clinton behind bars.

The rifle also featured crusader imagery and had the title “crusader” etched into the weapon.

The president’s son captioned his image, “Nice day at the range. @rarebreedfirearms and @spikes_tactical adding a little extra awesome to my AR and that mag.”

During the presidential campaign, chants of “lock her up” were a familiar echo during President Donald Trump’s rallies. And those chants didn’t end when the president entered the Oval Office, even during his recent rallies, “lock her up” is a common chant among his supporters.

Donald Trump Jr. is known for being an avid hunter and has made trips overseas to hunt animals like exotic elephants and big cats. In 2017, President Trump’s administration even loosened restrictions on importing big-game trophies from some African nations, which drew more attention to his son’s history of hunting exotic creatures.

President Trump has been a gun advocate during his tenure in the White House, even as mass shootings have become a common moment in America. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has refused to allow votes on gun measures unless the president says he would sign them into law.

The National Rifle Association has continuously been successful at lobbying the president to keep their interests in the front of his mind. After shootings in Texas and Ohio in the summer of 2019, Trump spent time on the phone with the NRA’s chief executive and later echoed the organization’s talking points, saying, “Democrats would, I believe, give up the Second Amendment.”
