Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton still believes Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (I-Vt.) presidential campaign is “just baloney.”
On Tuesday, Clinton appeared on Good Morning America where she discussed the Democratic presidential race and her upcoming Hulu documentary, “Hillary.”
One of the key moments during Clinton’s appearance centered on her criticism of Sanders. The interviewer, Linsey Davis asked Clinton about the idea of the candidate with the most delegates receiving the Democratic nomination.
During the Democratic presidential debate in South Carolina, the candidates were also asked the same question. All of them disagreed with the idea — all except Sanders.
He insisted, “The will of the people should prevail. The person who has the most votes should become the nominee.”
However, Clinton agrees with the other candidates. Davis noted, “That’s quite a bit of a change in his stance from 2016.”
Ironically, when Sanders ran against Clinton, he advocated for a contested convention. Now, as he is the Democratic front-runner, he wants the opposite. Davis’ observation garnered a laugh from Clinton.
“My reaction is let’s follow the rules,” Clinton said. “We’ve got rules. We had rules last time, and we have rules this time.”
Davis went on to inquire about Clinton’s take on Sanders’ campaign. In her documentary, she reportedly described the Vermont senator’s campaign in two words: “just baloney.” Clinton also said that she “felt so bad people got sucked into it.”
When asked if she still felt this way, she admitted that nothing has changed.
“That was my authentic opinion then, it’s my authentic opinion now,” Clinton said.

Clinton’s interview follows reports about her response to whether or not she would support Sanders if he won the Democratic nomination. Despite her opinion of his campaign, Clinton has said that she would support whoever receives the Democratic nomination.
While attending the Berlinale Film Festival, Clinton confirmed her stance.
“I will support the nominee, and it won’t surprise you to hear me say that I think that it’s imperative that we retire the incumbent,” Clinton said.
The Hulu docuseries “Hillary” premieres on Friday, March 6.
