Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) is blasting former Vice President Joe Biden for his tweet criticizing President Donald Trump’s counter-coronavirus efforts.
“A wall will not stop the coronavirus,” Biden tweeted.
Biden tweeted on Thursday about Trump’s wall and travel ban announced in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.
“Banning all travel from Europe — or any other part of the world — will not stop it,” he added. “This disease could impact every nation and any person on the planet — and we need a plan to combat it.”

Banning all travel from Europe — or any other part of the world — will not stop it.
This disease could impact every nation and any person on the planet — and we need a plan to combat it.
Crenshaw took to Twitter late Thursday with a response to Biden’s tweet.
The Texas congressman argued two points in support of the president’s efforts. He offered an example of how walls can make a difference and why the travel ban makes sense.
“First, walls quite literally stop a virus,” Crenshaw tweeted. “It’s kind of the whole point of a quarantine, for instance.”
“Second, assuming you meant this metaphorically, health experts like Dr. Fauci and everyone else agree travel restrictions have vastly slowed the spread of the virus in the US,” he continued.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, has been a key player in the Trump administration’s Coronavirus Task Force headed by Vice President Mike Pence.
While travel bans may not completely halt the spread of the virus, Dr. Fauci has noted that restricting travel and avoiding large gatherings has shown to slow the spread of the virus.
The latest news follows multiple reports about Trump’s response efforts to decrease the spread of the coronavirus. On Wednesday, Trump held an Oval Office speech announcing 30-day travel restrictions from several European countries. The decision has been met with opposition.
While Biden insists Trump’s wall won’t stop the virus, ironically, Mexicans south of the border are wondering if it could, as IJR reported.
For years, many Tijuana residents have crossed the borders into California commuting back and forth for work and school. However, residents are now apprehensive about the commute fearing they could cause the virus to spread.
Based on statistics, the number of reported coronavirus cases are significantly lower in Mexico.
