President Donald Trump is saluting Vice President Mike Pence for his ability to offer a five-minute answer to a question without answering the actual question.
At one point during the press conference on Wednesday, Fox News reporter John Roberts mentioned the reports that Trump was considering the reopening Obamacare enrollment amid the coronavirus crisis. Now, it has been reported that Trump has decided against doing so, as Roberts points out.
Roberts wanted to know the rationale behind that decision. He also wanted to know if the Trump administration has an alternative in lieu of Obamacare.
Pence opted to tackle the question with a five-minute response. He also concluded with a statement to uninsured Americans.
“I fully expect, I think as the president does, too, that we’ll see more of that for people that have insurance. We’ll continue to provide flexibility for Medicaid, for people that don’t have insurance and we’ll make sure that medicare has the flexibility to meet this moment, for seniors when we remember that seniors with underlying health conditions are the most vulnerable to serious outcomes from the coronavirus. But we’ll get through this using the full weight of the federal government and the full strength of the American economy.”

After Pence wrapped up his response, Trump chimed in to commend the vice president as he described him as a “great professional.”
Trump also admitted that Roberts asked a “very fair question” and noted that they do plan to further explore options for uninsured Americans.
“John, I think it’s a very fair question, though, and it’s something we’re really going to look at because it doesn’t seem fair. If you have it, you have a big advantage, and at a certain income level, you do,” Trump stated.
Trump went on to say that Pence’s response was “one of the greatest” responses he’s ever heard due to his ability to speak for five minutes and “not even touch” the question.
“I think it’s one of the greatest answers I’ve ever heard because Mike was able to speak for five minutes and not even touch your question, so I said, that’s what you call a great professional.”
Roberts responded saying, “In terms of a fair question or not, I always endeavor to ask fair questions.”
