Former Vice President Joe Biden’s campaign has announced the best fundraising month of his presidential run.

In the month of March, Biden raked in $46.7 million — raising more than President Donald Trump — as he became the Democratic frontrunner following his big Super Tuesday wins in multiple states.

The staggering fundraising efforts in March are a substantial increase from the $18.1 million Biden raked in during the month of February.

In fact, the funds raised in March amounted to more than half of what the Biden campaign has raised throughout the entire presidential run prior to the month of March.

Reports have indicated that Biden raised $88 million from the second quarter of 2019 to the end of February 2020. Biden received 70% of the funds through online donations.

In March alone, this campaign raised $46.7 million, with 70% from online donations. This virus has changed our campaign. But it hasn't changed the unwavering support we've gotten from all of you. Together, we're going to defeat Trump. Help keep us going: https://t.co/GIzEQS0nNj

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) also outraised the Republican National Committee (RNC) in the month of March with $32.7 million — including $18 million transferred from former New York City Mayor and Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg’s campaign. The RNC brought in $24 million in March.

The combined total for Biden’s campaign and the DNC comes to $79.4 million.

Trump’s campaign and the RNC have yet to release official fundraising reports for the month of March. However, it was reported that Republicans have said a combined $63 million from Trump’s campaign, the RNC, and affiliated Republican groups was raised.

INBOX: Trump Campaign and RNC Bring in Over $212M in First Quarter of 2020, Boast Over $240M Cash-on-Hand. The entities raised $63M+ in March, bringing total haul cycle to date to over $677M. This is $270M more than Obama’s re-election had at this point in 2012, they say.

Biden has expressed his gratitude to his supporters. In an emailed statement to his supporters, Biden acknowledged the ongoing support during a critical time.

“I know that April may not match March in fundraising, and that’s okay by me,” Biden wrote. “The world has changed a great deal. It’s unrecognizable at times. Your family and your community need your generosity and strength now more than ever.”
