House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is responding to President Donald Trump’s attack on her after she called him “morbidly obese.”
“I didn’t know that he would be so sensitive,” Pelosi said during an interview on MSNBC on Tuesday afternoon.
She added, “He’s always talking about other people’s… their weight, their pounds.”
She continued, “So much of the time has been spent on what he said rather than that, I think he should recognize his words weigh a ton. Instead of telling people to put Lysol into their lungs or taking a medication that’s not been approved except under certain circumstances … he should be saying what your previous guest mentioned, things that would help people.”

On Monday, President Donald Trump revealed that he has been taking hydroxychloroquine as an extra measure to protect himself from the coronavirus — though the drug has not been proven to help treat the virus.
Responding to the news on Monday night, Pelosi said, “He’s our president and I would rather he not be taking something that has not been approved by the scientists, especially in his age group and in his, shall we say, weight group, what is morbidly obese.”
When Trump was asked about Pelosi’s swipe on Tuesday, he said, “I don’t respond to her. I think she’s a waste of time.”

However, later he took aim at Pelosi, “Pelosi is a sick woman. She’s got a lot of problems, a lot of mental problems.”
He also defended his decision to take the drug, “This is an individual decision to make.”
