President Donald Trump is expecting a large turn out for his first political rally in months.

On Monday, Trump tweeted, “Almost One Million people request tickets for the Saturday Night Rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma!”

Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale also said that roughly one million people had requested tickets for the June 20 rally. Parscale also said that rally-goers would receive a temperature check, hand sanitizer, and a mask to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Over 1M ticket requests for the @realDonaldTrump #MAGA Rally in Tulsa on Saturday.

Before entering each guest will get:

✅Temperature check
✅Hand sanitizer
✅Mask

There will be precautions for the heat and bottled water as well.

Trump stopped holding rallies in March as COVID-19 began spreading in the U.S. as public health officials encouraged Americans to avoid large gatherings.

But last week, Trump said he will hold his first rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma on June 20, as IJR reported.

However, his rally has not received the warmest reception. In an op-ed on Monday, the Tulsa World’s editorial board wrote, “We don’t know why he chose Tulsa, but we can’t see any way that his visit will be good for the city.”

Along with the ongoing pandemic, the editorial board noted, “It has already concentrated the world’s attention of the fact that Trump will be rallying in a city that 99 years ago was the site of a bloody race massacre. This is the wrong place for the rally.”

It continued, “When the president of the United States visits your city, it should be exciting. We think a Trump visit will be, but for a lot of the wrong reasons, and we can’t welcome it.”

Former Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Scott Gottlieb told CBS News’ “Face The Nation” on Sunday that he “would certainly counsel against” people attending political rallies.

He added, “If I was giving advice to the administration on this, I would say they should withhold large political rallies right now.”

Despite concerns about coronavirus, the campaign is moving ahead with its rally, and people seem to be willing to venture out.

However, the campaign is requiring rally-goers to sign a waiver that says they “voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and agree not to hold Donald J. Trump for President, Inc.; BOK Center; ASM Global; or any of their affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents, contractors, or volunteers liable for any illness or injury.”
