As the general election draws near, many are warning that the results may not be known on election night.

And former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has some advice for her party’s current standard-bearer Joe Biden: Do not concede.

In an appearance on Showtime’s “The Circus,” Clinton told former campaign aide Jennifer Palmieri that she believes Biden should not concede if the race is close.

“Joe Biden should not concede under any circumstances because I think this is going to drag out, and eventually, I do believe he will win if we don’t give an inch and if we are as focused and relentless as the other side is,” Clinton said.

Clinton predicted the November election will be close but claimed that Republicans will try to “mess up voting.”

“I think that [Republicans] have a couple of scenarios that they are looking toward. One is messing up absentee balloting. They believe that helps them so that they then get maybe a narrow advantage in the Electoral College on Election Day,” she said.

Clinton also said she was told Republicans had 40 lawyers in Detroit, Michigan to challenge absentee ballots cast in the recent primary election.

“And a local reporter talking to one of the lawyers he knew was told it was a dry run for November,” she said, adding, “So we’ve got to have a massive legal operation, and I know the Biden campaign is working on that.”

While Clinton said Republicans would use litigation to challenge the results of the election, President Donald Trump has claimed that Democrats are trying to “steal” the election, as IJR reported.

“What they’re doing is using COVID to steal an election. They’re using COVID to defraud the American people, all of our people, of a fair and free election,” Trump told delegates at the Republican National Convention.

“They are trying to steal the election just like they did it last time with spying and we caught them and that included President Obama, and that included… Biden,” he added.

He has also previously suggested that “the only way we are going to lose this election is if the election is rigged.”
