President Donald Trump boasted to reporters that he won the first presidential debate over Joe Biden “easily” and claimed that he won in every poll that he saw.
Trump gaggled with reporters outside the White House on Wednesday and said, “By every measure, we won the debate easily last night. I think [Biden] was very weak. He looked weak, he was wining.”
The president added, “We won the debate by almost every poll that I saw. If you look at the various polls — I looked at about six of them. We won every one of them.”
He continued, “No, I don’t mind debating him. I hear he wants to get out of the debates, I don’t know.”

The debate polls scientifically conducted did not seem to break in favor of the president: CNN found that six in ten debate-watchers said Biden did a better job. CBS’ poll found that 48% of debate-watches said that Biden won while 41% gave it to Trump.
Some Twitter polls, which are unscientific because they are easily manipulated, gave the debate to Trump. C-SPAN and Telemundo both ran Twitter polls showing a Trump victory.
There is one constant denominator — the first presidential debate between Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden has been roundly characterized as a chaotic mess. The Commission on Presidential Debates announced on Wednesday that they were adding more “structure” to future debates.
In a statement, the Commission said, “Last night’s debate made clear that additional structure should be added to the format of the remaining debates to ensure a more orderly discussion of the issues.”
Biden panned Trump’s debate performance as a “national embarrassment”
During and after the debate, Trump attempted to pit progressive Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and his supporters against Biden. But Sanders told The View, “President Trump is somebody who is a pathological liar, somebody who doesn’t believe that the rules apply to him, and somebody who is a bull.”
