First Lady Melania Trump did not hold back when sharing her thoughts about the White House “Christmas stuff and decoration.”
In newly surfaced audio shared by Trump’s former close friend and adviser Stephanie Winston Wolkoff during her CNN interview on Thursday night, the first lady is heard talking about planning for the Christmas decorations at the White House.
Talking to Wolkoff, Trump said in July 2018, “I’m working…my a** off on the Christmas stuff, that you know, who gives a f**k about the Christmas stuff and decorations? But I need to do it, right?”
The first lady continued, “OK, and then I do it and I say that I’m working on Christmas and planning for the Christmas and they said, ‘Oh, what about the children that they were separated?’ Give me a f**king break.”
Her remarks were in reference to the backlash received at the time over the Trump administration’s policy on separating children from their parents on the U.S.-Mexico border.
“Were they were saying anything when Obama did that? I can not go, I was trying to get the kid reunited with the mom. I didn’t have a chance — needs to go through the process and through the law,” Trump added.

CNN’s Anderson Cooper responded to the audio during Thursday night’s interview with Wolkoff, “Talk about a war on Christmas. It’s funny that she would be leading that.”
