First Lady Melania Trump is letting people know how thankful she is for the “prayers and support” following her and her husband’s, President Donald Trump, COVID-19 diagnosis.

“My family is grateful for all of the prayers [and] support!” the first lady wrote on Twitter Monday.

She added that she is “feeling good” and “will continue to rest at home.”

Melania Trump then directed a message for all those serving and helping to combat the coronavirus pandemic and all of those who are impacted by the virus.

“Thank you to medical staff [and] caretakers everywhere, [and] my continued prayers for those who are ill or have a family member impacted by the virus,” she wrote.

Melania Trump chose to stay at the White House to isolate after testing positive, as NBC News reported.

“She has Covid,” the official told the outlet. “That would expose the agents who would drive her there and the medical staff who would walk her up to him.”

An official also told CNN, “Melania is aware of the dangers of Covid-19. Potentially exposing others is not a risk she would take.”

While Melania Trump stayed at the White House residence, the president went to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, on Friday.

In an update, White House chief of staff Mark Meadows said on Monday during a phone call interview on “Fox & Friends,” “The doctors will actually have an evaluation sometime late morning and then the president, in consultation with the doctors, will make a decision on whether to discharge him later today.”

He added, “We’re still optimistic that based on his unbelievable progress and how strong he’s been in terms of his fight against this COVID-19 disease that he will be released, but that decision will not be made until later today.”

Additionally, Vice President Mike Pence and second lady Karen Pence tested negative again on Monday morning.

Following the news of the president and first lady’s diagnosis, former President Barack Obama sent “best wishes” to them, as IJR reported.

“Michelle and I are hopeful that they and others who have been affected by COVID-19 around the country are getting the care that they need, that they are going to be on a path to a speedy recovery,” he said during a virtual fundraiser on Friday.

The former president added, “It’s important, I think, for all of us to remember that even when we’re in the midst of big political battles, with issues that have a lot at stake, that we’re all Americans and we’re all human beings and we want to make sure that everybody is healthy.”
